The Trauma and Orthopaedic Surgery Registrar job application is a national process (i.e. one application for the whole country) which is run by the Yorkshire and Humber Deanery. The application is done online via the Oriel Recruitment portal. As part of the application, candidates have to complete a set of self-assessment questions. Longlisted candidates will have to upload supporting evidence to validate their self-assessment responses.
Following this each deanery releases the number of jobs they have available each year (which varies considerably and is often not confirmed until the last minute). Applicants then have to rank all the jobs in order of preference. For more information see Competition Rates.
The number of ST3 jobs available in each region for 2021 are shown in the table below. These are in the process of being confirmed for the 2022 selection round:
|ST3 jobs per region (2021)|
|East of England||15|
|Kent, Surrey, Sussex||12|
|Thames Valley (Oxford)||7|
|Yorkshire and Humber||20|
